# App crashes if the repo name contains '.'

My repo name contains a ‘.’ and it causes the built app crash, I have to change the repo name to some random repo

Why do elm use the repo name internally? And why don’t elm directly convert repo names to javascript variable names?

This doesn’t directly answer your question, but if you want to use a `.` in your module name, you can use subdirectories.

For example:  
src/elm/Some/Module.elm is is imported using `import Some.Module`
