One of my old projects fails to work with 0.19.2.

I’d like to revert to 0.19.1.

If I ‘rm /usr/local/bin/elm’ and ‘rm ~/.elm’ and do a clean install, it still reports as 0.19.2.

What must I do for a full removal and clean install? Using Mac OS Tahoe on an M1 Air.

I’m not certain about the removal side of things but I am curious about your project not compiling with 0.19.2. Is it a public project?

Running `type elm` should tell you where the binary is being resolved

Sure. [GitHub - peterjamesward/GPXmagicV3: GPXmagic version 3 · GitHub](https://github.com/peterjamesward/GPXmagicV3)

It’s quite likely that’s my amateurish environment that’s the problem here!

And not having worked on this project for a while.

Many of the releases are downloadable on this page, so be sure you are downloading the 0.19.1 version:

> **[c9aefb6 - Releases · elm/compiler](https://github.com/elm/compiler/releases#release-0.19.1)**
>
> Compiler for Elm, a functional language for reliable webapps. - elm/compiler

Click the little “Assets (8)” thing at the bottom and you’ll see a list of different binaries and installers that you can download.

The links in other places are probably pointing to 0.19.2 links.

If you are using the Mac installer, it should place `elm` into `/usr/local/bin/` directly, overwriting whatever is there at the moment.

Thank you. Seems github unicorns will not let me access that but will try later.

The Chain Home app runs fine with Elm 0.19.2 for me when I switch the version in the `elm.json`. What issues are you seeing?

@peterjamesward not sure if it’d help but I’ve been use mise for specifying which version of Elm to use (amongst other things) with each of my projects. I posted about it just now [A template for small Elm apps, and a way to specify a specify version of Elm for each](https://discourse.elm-lang.org/t/a-template-for-small-elm-apps-and-a-way-to-specify-a-specify-version-of-elm-for-each/10886) because I figured it might help other people too. The tldr is that it lets you have both Elm 0.19.1 and 0.19.2 installed per project and not have to worry about switching in any manual way as you move between projects.

Neat idea. I shall take a look.

:face\_palm: – my IDE settings were wrong.
That’s not unusual for me, with long intervals between practice.
Your help is, however, much appreciated.
