# Lamdera v1.5.0: Elm 0.19.3, faster Wire, safer virtual DOM, and tonnes more

Hi all!

Lamdera v1.5.0 is now out! It’s a big one, after a long year of cleanups, fixes and refinements behind the scenes. Here’s a quick summary:

- **Elm 0.19.3** – the compiler is now built on Elm 0.19.3, and apps at 0.19.1, 0.19.2 or 0.19.3 all build unmodified
- **20-100x faster Wire** – codecs are now generated as direct JS: same wire format, a fraction of the memory
- **Safer virtual DOM** – @lydell’s elm-safe-virtual-dom by default, so browser extensions can’t crash your app
- **Hot reloading and a faster `lamdera live`**
- **Faster compiles** – 1.66x faster, with identical output

Plus a long list of fixes and improvements.

The clickable compile errors are so good! Really glad to see the safe virtual DOM integrated too, well done @lydell! Thanks to everyone who worked on this massive release.
