I wrote an app for viewing local planning applications. I found an API ([plannexus.io](http://plannexus.io)) that would avoid having to scrape the local council portal, but the free tier is heavily rate limited. I thought that using a client-server architecture I could pull once from the API to the server and use it as a cache for many clients. This is a perfect fit for Lamdera. It works a treat; does an incremental fetch daily and API usage is low. I’m fairly pleased with the approach to throttling. For a sufficiently small locale and time window, volumes of applications are low.
