Hello Elm community. I am new to software development but I would really like to learn Elm. I am a hands on, auditory learner with a million questions so simply reading the forums helps, but I’m struggling to understand a lot of it. Is there anyone that would tutor me? Thank you! I’m hoping to learn the language to help my general knowledge, but also to gain more marketable skills.
Hey there
While a tutor would be great, maybe the elm slack could be your tutor with the difference that it never sleeps?
Hello and welcome
I had a good time learning the language by going through the official guide. When you’ve got the basics, you could try to find a collaborator for a cool project
If Official Guide isn’t good enough, may I recommend the Elm In Action book. We use it in our study group in Kyiv and it seems to be working quite well. I definitely found it to be a very nice material.
Where does one find the book?
Cheers, friend!

I’ve been there! I find out-loud conversations can be much more useful than reading forums, books, and slacks. If you want to talk about elm or programming in general, feel free to DM me on elm-lang slack - I’m onefishdrewfish

Just yesterday I have read Stripe has a remote coffee event: https://stripe.events/remote-coffee
We could have a remote coffee for Elmers too. Maybe for us beginners a place to ask questions but also to get some direction. I have bought a book and went through the amazing elmprogramming.com, but I still need some guidance. I think the point is that we all come to Elm wanting to build something and sometimes we even know how to do it, but we are not sure if we are solving it the right way or if we’ll have problems down the line.
Let me know, I’d be happy to organize a google talk meeting. You can PM me here too.
